Foam Toe Separators, How to use and choose the correct size

Foam toe separators are an inexpensive, durable and comfortable medical device to cushion and support toes that are crooked, have corns or rub together. Toe spacer have extra padding to allow air flow to the digits. Selecting the correct toe separator size is important in protecting the digit condition.
A foam toe spreader will protect toes from corns, bunions, blisters, overlapping toes, rubbing and hammertoes.

A layered foam toe separator will realign crooked toes and straighten out the big toe in bunions.
They are reusable and washable. The usual lifespan for a foam toe separator is about a week. Just hand wash them with warm soapy water and let them air dry.

Layered Foam Toe Separators come in three sizes

-Large Toe Separators great for the larger toes, realign bunions, maintain toe alignment
2" x 1"
-Medium Toe Separators are ideal for women with smaller feet to maintain the larger toes.
Or Men for the middle toes.
1 1/2" x 1"
-Small Toe Separators are for the smaller toes to align and prevent rubbing.
1" x 3/4"

How to Use our  Layered Toe Separators
-Place the convex side of the toe separator facing away from the foot.
-The longer edge of the concave side of the toe separator is facing up
-Gently insert the toe separator between the toes you want to cushion.

We also produce a thicker toe separator (1/2 inch) which works well for the big toe with bunions. thick toe separator.

Full Steel Turf Toe Insoles

Full Steel Turf Toe Insoles for Men and Women: Pain Relief and Prevention from Turf Toe

Full Steel, Turf Toe Insoles are recommended by foot health professionals because they are ideal for preventing Turf Toe: soft tissue injury or a ligament strain that affects the big toe joint, which is typically caused from jamming the big toe or the constant push off movement when running or jumping – movements that often extend the big toe’s normal range of motion. These insoles will not only help prevent Turf Toe, but also provide stability to reduce discomfort from ball of foot pain and arthritis pain. They also combine the benefits of a special spring steel insert with the cushioning of a padded top. The Full Steel, Turf Toe Insoles are also perfect for wearers who require a rigid or semi-rigid shock absorbing footbed.

The steel acts as a means of immobilizing the toe joint to prevent it from bending during walking and sports, thus aiding the healing process. These insoles combine the benefits of a special spring steel insert with the cushioning of a padded top. Used to prevent and correct metatarsophalangeal(M.P.) joint injuries.

These are also puncture resistant insoles.  They are extremely light and comfortable, weighing only slightly more than a regular non-puncture resistant insole, and can be worn continuously in your footwear or only occasionally as the need for extra protection is required. They can be used in many types of regular non-safety footwear in place of any existing insole that has been provided with the footwear.
Puncture resistant insoles have many suggested applications for use, including but not limited to, occasional use opportunities in factories and workplaces where safety policy dictates that penetration resistant footwear protection must be worn by employees and visitors. Examples of specific applications where footwear penetration protection is highly recommended are;
in the tire recycling industry,
renovation and construction industries,
metalworking,
medical first responders,
sanitation and landfill sites,
hunting and fishing,
any time there is a risk of contact with a sharp object.

The Full Steel Turf Toe Insole has these features:

Helps immobilize the big toe joint to keep it from extending from its normal range of motion
Helps stabilize the foot to minimize pain from foot arthritis and Metatarsalgia (ball of foot pain)
Used to avert and correct M.P. (Metatarsophalangeal) joint injuries.
Packaged per pair
Laser cut spring steel .020″ thick
1/8″ durable felt
Sizes of Steel Shoe Insole: Men’s 6-13 Women’s 5-12

Hockey Orthotics ( Ice Skate Arch Supports ) and Gait Cycle

Hockey Skate Orthotics

Orthotics in hockey ice skates are used to control the ankle, foot and knee. In the foot, it especially controls the subtalar, midtarsal and ankle joints. If any of these joints are not in their most efficient positions, then the ice skater will not have the most effective leg power.

The typical hockey skater’s lower extremities never goes through a complete gait cycle. They ideally should have limited pedal mechanics between midstance and the beginning of propulsion, with slight knee flexion during the entire contact phase. When initiating a turn, an ice skater will maintain their control by directing the inside knee medially and transferring the load inward to the foot’s medial edge. This is done by internally rotating the tibia, causing a closed kinetic chain pronation of the foot which transfers the pressure through the skate boot on to the blade’s inside edge.

The higher level hockey skater has a more subtle dynamic and the reverse is true for the beginner. When an ice skater has an over pronated or unstable foot structure, they may have a more difficult time turning as the medial arch of the foot may collapse within the skate boot before the edging force can be transferred.

Some indications you may need a hockey ice skate orthotic arch support.
1. Foot and or Ankle pain or fatigue with ice skating.
2. Weak crossovers.
3. Difficulty making a turn.
4. Knee and or Low Back pain or fatigue while skating.
5. Chronic fatigue or pain directly after skating.

A hockey ice skate orthotic should allow greater control with turning and crossovers. Usually, persons with ice skate arch support orthotics notice longer stride length and more explosive leg power. Ice skate orthotics should be thin for ease of placement, 3/4 length for toe room, semi rigid for control and adjustable for modifications. The best place for a hockey orthotic is under the skate’s insole for comfort, control and proper placement.

A heat moldable, direct contact orthotic from Atlas Biomechanics achieves all the above goals. It is only 1.3mm thick, fabricated with just a hot water bath, heat gun or toaster oven. Duplicate a lab built custom orthotic in less than 10 minutes.

Some Benefits of Our Heat Moldable Orthotics
*3/4 semi rigid sport orthotic shell.
*12mm heel cup for added control
*Medium profile (Sport Orthotic) to fit in most ice skates, gym, and casual shoes.
*1.3 mm thin. *Completely heat moldable and reheat formable.
*Proprietary material used to ease of mold.
*Total custom contact fit.
