Cushioning Bunions with Stick on Foot Callus Pads

Bunions can be successful cushioned with a simple stick on U-shaped callus foot pad. A bunion is a boney bump on the inside of the big toe joint ( first MPJ ). This occurs when the first metatarsal moves medial and the big toe drifts the opposite direction. The only way to correct this deformity is to have surgery to realign the bones. The bunion bump can become painful usually from rubbing against the inside of a shoe. It is difficult to find a proper shaped bunion cushion.

Our u shaped callus foot pad is the ideal shape to cushion the boney bunion bump. They are open on one end so they are adjustable to contour to the shape of the bunion. The medical grade skin adhesive on them will allow the bunion cushion foot pad to stay in place firmly. Atlas Biomechanics manufactures our u shaped (half moon) callus stick on foot pads from either medical grade felt or foam. We also produce them in 1/8" or 1/4" thickness.

How to use Carbon Stabilizer Foot Plates

Carbon stabilizer rigid foot plates are used to stiffen the sole of the shoe. This will limits the range of motion of the forefoot and midfoot to make the shoe non-flexible. Carbon insoles have a small amount of flex to but limits forefoot roll-off, and toe-off.

Carbon Stabilizer Foot Insole Plate features:

Extremely thin plates that move from shoe to shoe.
1) 2 mm (1/8") thick.
2) Plates are manufactured to limit dorsiflexion at the Metatarsal joints.
3) Immobilizes big toe joint (1st MPJ) to prevent it from bending (dorsiflexion) during gait (walking or sport activity).
4) Manufactured from medical grade of carbon fiber.
5) Dispensed as a pair. Use the carbon stabilizer plate on either foot, or turn one over and have two for one foot.
6) Puncture resistant insole

Possible Uses:

1) Problems requiring a rigid or semi-rigid foot bed.
2) Fracture treatment of metatarsals or digits.
3) Turf Toe injuries.
4) Hallux Limitus Hallux Rigidus
5) Forefoot pain Forefoot capsulitis & bursitis
6) Metatarsalgia Athritis of the forefoot Cuboid syndrome
7) Stress Fractures of the forefoot ( metatarsal ).
8) Freiberg's infraction
9) Post-op control of Bunionectomy.
10) Shin splints

DIRECTIONS for Atlas Biomechanics Carbon Stabilizer Rigid Plate:

Even though they are thin (1/8"), they will take up some room in your shoes.
Remove the shoe's insole or place beneath shoe insoles/padding, not on top.
Try to slowly break into wearing the plate.
The first day wear the shoe while sitting for 1 hour and standing 1 hour.
Every day afterwards, wear them 1-2 hours more if comfortable.

When you need rigid control in the shoe. Our Carbon and Steel Rigid Stabilizer Plate Insoles are designed to limit range of motion. Rigid stabilizer plates are fabricated from medical grade carbon or steel.
