Felt Arch Pads are an Inexpensive Alternative to Treat Plantar Fasciitis/Heel Spurs

Felt arch supports are an inexpensive alternative to treat plantar fasciitis and heel spur syndrome. A felt arch support pad is a soft cushion made of medical grade cotton 1/4 inch felt. There is adhesive on one side of the arch cookie foot pad. One can either apply the arch pad directly to the skin or stick them on the arch of shoe.  The advantages of a felt arch support are several. Just place the device in a shoe, no need to cast or heat mold an orthotic. The felt will mold over time (usually in two days) to the shape of the foot. This provides superior longitudinal arch control. The 3/4 length provides for extra toe room in the shoe. Since the felt arch support is flexible, there is an ease to modifications. They are easy to trim. The light weight cotton felt is comfortable in the shoe.

Our felt arch cushion will support the plantar fascia to allow healing of plantar fasciitis and heel spurs. We manufacturer them here in the USA and only use medical grade adhesive backed felt.

Abnormal Gait, Short Limb and Heel Lifts

For efficient gait, a symmetrical and well aligned body is essential. When the pelvis is distorted by leg length discrepancies, gravitational forces weaking the SI joint and pelvic ligaments. These structures find themselves trying to maintain structural balance. Left untreated, many symptoms appear as the short limb destabilizes the pelvis by unleveling the sacral base. Painful lumbar compensations often travel all the way up through the atlantooccipital joint, as the spinal column is forced to rotate and accommodate the uneven sacral base.



A proper fitted heel lift can alleviate many of these symptoms. Atlas Biomechanics' heel are produced in rubber/cork and EVA/rubber in 3, 6, 9 and 12 mm. Our most common prescribed height heel lift for a unequal limb length is the 6 mm ( 1/4" ).

Cork Adjustable Heel Lift with built in Heel Wedge

Atlas Biomechanics is manufacturing the only heel lift with a built in heel wedge. Our patient pending heel lift was in development for over two years. Thank you to our medical professional customers were requesting this type of heel lift/wedge. Most short limbs will have an inverted Calcaneus, our heel lift brings the ground to the foot. This will provide a more stabilizing foundation to the short leg and prevent over pronation of the Subtalar joint.


Cork Adjustable Heel Lift with Built in Heel Wedge features;

- Adjustable Heel Lift with built in Varus or Valgus heel wedge
- Three removable 3 mm (1/8 inch) rubber cork layers.
- Each layer is peelable to achieve the proper correction of leg length discrepancy.
- 1/2 of the bottom layer can be peeled for varus or valgus correction.
- Helps prevent pronation of the Subtalar Joint of the short leg.
- Most short limbs will have an inverted calcaneus, our heel lift brings the ground to the foot.
- More stabilizing foundation to the short limb.
- Easily fabricate either a Varus Heel Wedge or Valgus Heel Wedge
